Partner Ministries of St. John's

Jesus commissioned us to "go into all the world." Specifically, he sends us to:

"Jerusalem" – our parish or local community (ie. Johns & Wadmalaw Islands)
"Judea" – the region we are part of (ie. Charleston & the Lowcountry)
"Samaria" – neighboring regions and people with whom we would not ordinarily mix
"The ends of the Earth" – internationally

St. John's is committed to reaching out in all four of these ways. St. John's Parish in addition to our own missions and ministries hosts and partners with other local organizations to serve the community. These include:

[meets Tuesdays, 6.30pm, and Fridays, 7pm, in Walton Hall]
An international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem.

Narcotics Anonymous

Meetings are held Monday nights at 6:30pm, in the LaRoche building

The Barrier Islands’ Free Medical Clinic provides medical services to the medically underserved on Johns, James, and Wadmalaw Islands. Several members of St. John’s helped to found the BIFMC, which opened in the Spring of 2008. Their most consistent need is for volunteers! Please contact Sue Garcia by clicking HERE.

Blessing Baskets

St. John's, along with other island churches, businesses, local farmers generously donate their time, money, fresh & canned food & meat in order to feed over 250 low income, needy families throughout the islands. Blessing Basket provides boxes of food to those whose food stamps don’t take them to the end of the month. Blessing Boxes are made up the third Thursday of each month and deliveries are made the third Saturday of each month. If interested, please contact Walt Miller at the church office.
